NH Hotels:
During our travels around the state of New Hampshire,
we have been fortunate enough to have stayed at a lot of different NH
hotels. We have found that many NH hotels offer a wide variety of different
luxuries to make your stay at these hotels a pleasure. The best advice we
can give you about finding a hotel in NH is to shop around and don't be
afraid to ask for a discount. Discounts are almost always given upon asking
as long as the hotel is not booked full of people. NH hotels get booked up
fast in peak seasons. Peak seasons for New Hampshire hotels are usually
summer near the beach in towns like Hampton, NH, Rye NH, Seabrook NH, and
surrounding areas near the seacoast. Fall foliage and winter skiing seasons
are also a peak seasons for central, Northern and the Lakes Region hotels in
NH. Other than the obvious seasons, there are also times when events are
happening in NH that make the hotels here fill up fast. We were in Concord
looking for a hotel once and there was a girls soccer championship happening
nearby and we were unable to get a room in all Concord hotels that night. We
were forced to drive South to check other hotels in Merrimack, Nashua,
Hudson, Manchester, and Hooksett and couldn't find a room! We ended up in
Laconia that night at 2am! So plan early, do your shopping and ask for a
discounted hotel room! But don't get too hooked on price when comparing
hotels, there are some hotels in NH that have refrigerators, microwaves,
swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, exercise rooms, bigger or more comfortable
beds, etc. What good is a hotel room you got $20 cheaper to find that you
don't like the hotel? The one thing I can't stress enough is to always
compare hotel prices and also compare what the hotels offer for that price!
NH Resorts:
NH resorts are some of the finest in the country in my
opinion! I have stayed at some resorts that I didn't even want to leave the
resort, or even my room to go do the activities I had planned on. NH resorts
are usually well placed with excellent views of the mountains, and often
have pools and restaurants right at the resort or nearby. Again, it is
important to not just compare the prices at NH resorts, but also what they
offer. Resorts in New Hampshire often offer very different amenities and
luxuries and this can cause huge differences in prices, so again, compare NH
resorts by features as well as cost for what you are most interested in.
NH Bed & Breakfast/Inns:
Bed and Breakfast (B&B) and Inns are much different
than hotels and resorts as they tend to be more personalized and often
provide more of a "homey" feel to them. Bed and Breakfasts in NH also
usually have a lot of history and are made from larger, older houses. If you
are looking to experience New Hampshire in a more traditional way, a NH Bed
and Breakfast Inn is the way to go. B&B's here in NH are usually found in
small towns and around the White Mountains of NH. Bed & Breakfast Inns can
be a romantic way to spend a wedding Anniversary or Honeymoon. Again,
comparing NH Bed & Breakfast prices is important, but comparing what each
B&B offers is crucial. Some B&B Inns have fireplaces in common areas and
taverns right on the property, other may not, but may offers better views or
other things that may be more of interest to you. It is also quite common
that NH Bed and Breakfast Inns are owned by a single family that occupies a
designated area of the B&B, again adding to the Bed and Breakfast's
mysterious history.
