Information about Beecher Cascade and Pearl Cascade:
Directions to Beecher and Pearl Cascades: Trail
location: Rt. 302
in Carroll. The trail begins behind the Crawford Depot which is an
old train station (still in use as a scenic railroad). The Crawford
Depot is not well marked, it does have a sign that reads "Crawford"
on the side of the building. The Crawford Depot is next to the
Appalachian Mountain Club (see pictures). you may park at the
Crawford depot, cross the tracks behind the depot to the Avalon
trail head (use caution, active railroad). Follow signs for the
Cascade Loop. Both Beecher Cascade and Pearl Cascade will be found
along this trail. At the time of this report (10/29/09) the Cascade
Loop Trail that
takes you to the cascades was very difficult to pass. The AMC had
removed a bridge from the trail. We were able to cross the rocks on
the brook, but it was a little tricky. Be sure to check the AMC
website for current details or call 603-536-1315 or 603-726-2200.
