Top B&B's in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast information below is the personal opinions of the author and gathered from personal experiences.

My husband and I love staying at NH B&B’s to get away for a night. We have stayed at some of the most beautiful and charming B&B’s New Hampshire has to offer. Here is my guide to the top B&B’s in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Bed & Breakfast Reviews

The Maples at Warner B&B

My husband and I stayed at the Maples at Warner B&B in Warner, NH.  Warner is a small, intimate town located in the Dartmouth- Lake Sunapee Region.

The Maples is a charming B&B. The innkeepers, Kevin and Cheryl Blais, are two of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The Maples at Warner B&B has 6 rooms so it is quiet and very peaceful.

The inn is said to have a spirit living there named Uncle Frank. Frank is one of the previous owners of the inn. He is said to be seen going into one of the other rooms where his daughter-in-law was staying. It seems he is still taking care of her as he did in life.

The innkeepers strive to please their guests, so there are no TV’s or telephones in the rooms. There is a downstairs living room with a TV for guests who must watch their favorite show or game.

Cheryl serves a delicious, hot breakfast each morning. Our breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, coffee, juice and French Toasts with orange and cranberry sauce.

This NH B&B is highly recommended for anyone who just wants to get away from it all.

Woodbound Inn, Rindge NH

The Woodbound Inn is located in Rindge, NH. The inn is simply amazing.  The innkeepers are Aylmer and Cheryl Given who purchased the inn in 2008.  After purchasing the inn, Aylmer and Cindy did some major renovations including adding a full restaurant in the inn. In addition to the main inn, there are also cabins that rest alongside Lake Contoocook that are equipped with a fireplace and refrigerator. There is also a golf course, reception hall and tennis courts on the 127 acre property.

My husband and I stayed in one of their elegant suites which has a king size bed and sitting room.  Breakfast was an elaborate buffet. Great place to stay.

The Dudley House B&B, Rindge NH

The Dudley House B&B is located in Alton, NH. The innkeepers, Elise and Thom Conlon, have owned the B&B since 1996. The room my husband and I stayed in was called The Keeping Room. It had a private bath and access to the kitchen. Having access to the kitchen was my favorite part because I got to make a cup of tea at night. Friendly innkeepers and a delicious breakfast.

Benjamin Prescott Inn, Jaffrey NH

Benjamin Prescott Inn is located in Jaffrey, NH.  The innkeepers, Charlie and Sue Lyle, are very charming people.

The inn is an old 1800’s home. The innkeepers stayed at several B&B’s in England and Ireland before deciding that being innkeepers was their calling.  They searched several B&B’s online before deciding on Benjamin Prescott Inn in Jaffrey New Hampshire.

The inn has 7 rooms and 3 beautifully designed suites.  The room my husband and I stayed in was the Oliver Post room which overlooks the barn. It was a nice treat in the morning to look out the window at the horses in the stables. I give this room 5 stars.

Glynn House Inn, Ashland NH

The Glynn House Inn is located in Ashland, NH. My husband and I both agree that this was one of our favorite B&B's. When you walk through the door of the Inn, you feel right at home. The dining room where breakfast is served is to your left when you walk in and the kitchen is to the right. The kitchen has a refrigerator that is stocked with complimentary sodas and water.  There is always coffee, tea or hot chocolate as well. Towards the back of the Inn there is a lovely sitting room where complimentary hors d’ouevres and wine is served in the late afternoon.

Each room of the Glynn house Inn is named after and decorated after a US President. My husband and I stayed in the Harrison room. The room was simply immaculate. We had a queen size poster bed with crisp sheets and a down comforter. Our room also had a fireplace and LCD TV and DVD player.

Before we headed out to dinner in town, I ordered one of the inn’s add-on packages, a dozen of chocolate covered strawberries which were incredibly delicious.

Breakfast was delicious. You had fresh fruit and your choice of several juices.  Before the main course was served, we had Triple Chocolate muffins and baked grapefruit. The main entrée was a choice of Eggs Benedict or Stuffed French Toast. I had the French toast which was stuffed with Ricotta and cream cheeses.

This is in immaculate, the food is yummy and the innkeepers are extremely pleasant.

Serene Haven Hillsborough NH

Serene Haven was the 2nd B&B that my husband and I stayed at. We chose the Earth and Spirit room for two reasons. The first is because it is decorated in purple and that is my absolute favorite color. The second reason we chose the room was because it has a Jacuzzi and my tired, achy bones were calling out for some TLC.

The dining room/ kitchen are the first room you come across when you walk in the front door. Past the dining room is the living room complete with a fireplace. There are four rooms located upstairs:  The Earth and Spirit Room, The Radiant Energy Room, The Crystal Pines Room and the Songbird Suite.

Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh fruit, orange juice, omelets, maple sausage and cinnamon rolls.

Jasmine, the innkeeper, also does channeling and spiritual counseling.

The Candlelite Inn, Bradford NH

The Candlelite Inn is located in the heart of Bradford, NH. The innkeepers, Les and Marilyn Gordon, are the most pleasant couple you will ever meet.

My favorite part of our stay at the Candlelite Inn was sitting in the sun room at night after dinner sipping on warm apple cider and warming up in front of the fireplace.

The innkeepers put the needs of their guests first. Marilyn has a basket of menus from nearby restaurants and a neatly organized binder with things to do and see in the local area.

There are four rooms in the inn plus a mini suite. Each room is decorated in its own color.

In the morning, we had a three-course breakfast. The first course was spiced pear muffins. The main course consisted of apple cinnamon pancake with mulled cider. And the last course was pumpkin/pear pie. Definitely a 5 star inn.
