Downtown Nashua, NH

16th Annual Winter Holiday Stroll to take place on November 28th

Great American Downtown is pleased to announce that the 16th Annual Winter Holiday Stroll will take place on Saturday, November 28th from 5-10 pm.  Once again downtown Nashua will become a destination for thousands of residents and visitors who flock to the city in celebration of the season.

This year’s Stroll theme “Traditions of the Season” was selected to honor the abundant and diverse customs celebrated by all who will attend the 2009 Stroll.  A full menu of events is scheduled which includes dozens of performance acts, a visit by Santa Claus and a wide variety of children’s and community activities.

Many downtown businesses stay open for the Stroll, welcoming Strollers to explore the unique retail offerings of the district.  Performing acts, both indoor and outdoor, will fill the night air with music and entertainment.  Strollers enjoy these events free of charge, thanks to the generous support of sponsors like FairPoint Communications, Inc.

“We are so pleased by the interest FairPoint Communications has shown in downtown Nashua,” said Great American Downtown Executive Director, Sue Butler, “Whether it is through their investment in the downtown WiFi project or their sponsorship of the Stroll, we appreciate their strong commitment to supporting the Nashua community.”

“Through strategic charitable giving, FairPoint supports local events and organizations that improve the lives of individuals and enhance the strength and vitality of our community,” stated Chip Underhill, Marketing Manager for FairPoint Communications.  “Nashua is a great place to live and work and this event celebrates the diversity and cultural richness of its residents.  FairPoint is excited to be part of the celebration of Nashua’s heritage.”

Last year’s Stroll drew nearly 30,000 people to the heart of our city.  A volunteer committee supported by Great American Downtown, Nashua’s nonprofit revitalization group, produces the Stroll each year.  For more information about the Winter Holiday Stroll, please call Great American Downtown at 603.883.5700 or visit www.NashuaStroll.com.

About Great American Downtown:  Great American Downtown is dedicated to providing coordination, collaboration and partnerships that unify the entire Nashua community around a common vision for an attractive downtown that is vibrant, viable and truly reflects the character of our city.
