Silver Hills (by land) and
Silver Seas (by sea) is pleased
to announce our first of the
season Field Trip to the Isles
of Shoals! After a historic boat
tour to Duck, Appledore,
Smuttynose, Star, Seavey and
White, we'll make landing on one
of the islands for an engaging,
hands-on two part photo
workshop. First we'll 'focus' on
capturing Natural Light using
exposure techniques for digital
cameras and after a surprise
lunch, we'll
explore Photographic
Composition -- the visual skills
critical in organizing your
subject matter. At the end of
the day we'll download and
critique your photos. Our goal
is to attain a level of work
that is truly expressive of the
Shoals' Spirit!
9:00 AM Departure from Kittery
Landing behind Frisbee's
10:00 AM Boat tour to see the
Seals on Duck Island, Terns on
Seavey, Cornell Marine Lab on
Appledore, White Island
Lighthouse, Star Island
Conference Center, Malaga and
Smuttynose
10:30 AM Make Landing on either
White, Star or Smuttynose based
on tides and winds
11:00 AM Lesson One: Using your
digital camera to record Natural
Light
12:30 PM Lunch, sandwiches and
ice water provided by us
1:00 PM Lesson Two: Composition
and "What am I Photographing?"
2:00 PM Explore and Enjoy
4:00 PM Review and Critique of
images you have downloaded
5:00 PM Head to Mainland
6:00 PM Arrive safely at port
