Adelle’s Coffee House
3
Hale St.
Dover, NH
603-742-1737
Adelle’s
Coffee House is located in the heart of Dover across from City Hall.
I love going there in the winter because they have specialty
coffees. I have two favorites at the moment. The
Peppermint Latte and the Banana Mocha are out of this world.
Banana Mocha may not sound like a great combination but you’d be
pleasantly surprised how delicious it is. In addition,
Adelle’s also serves a wide variety of coffees, espressos, teas and
Italian sodas. TO go with your delicious coffee, I highly
recommend a nice toasted bagel with veggie cream cheese.
Café
Monte Alto
83
Main St.
Plymouth,
NH.
603-536-6323
Café
Monte Alto was opened in 1997. But there is a long history to
this family owned business. The family business was actually
started in 1936 when the 1st generation of coffee growers started a
coffee plantation in Peru. That plantation has won the “Gold
Bean” award from the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
The coffee beans used at Café Monte Alto are of the Arabica family.
Ok now that we have the history of the place out of the way, let’s
take coffee. The coffee I would recommend is the Caracolillo
coffee. It is a rich coffee with a fruity flavor.
Delicious!
Dirt
Cowboy Café
75 South Main St.
Hanover, NH.
603-643-1323
Dirt
Cowboy Café has some of the best coffee in town. They have a
selection of coffees from Africa, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.
I am a huge fan of coffee blends and flavored coffees. My fave
is the Canoe Club Blend which is a blend of African, Latin, American
and Asian beans. The coffee is a bit smoky and chocolaty at
the same time. In addition to coffees, the café also has a
great selection of teas. The Dirt Cowboy Café has been in
business since 1993 and serves hundreds and hundreds of customers a
day. They have been voted “Best Gourmet Coffee Shop” for 7
years straight.
Frontside
Grind
2760 White Mountain Highway (Rt. 16)
North
Conway, NH.
603-356-3603
This
popular coffee shop has quite a story to tell. The coffee shop
came about in 1997 when two snowboarders decided there is probably
more to life than being snowboard bums. After spending quite a
bit of time working at various coffee shops, they decided to open
one of their own. Frontside Grind offers various types of
coffees and espressos. I have a few recommendations for you.
If you love candy bars then you will enjoy their candy car lattes.
My favorite is the Peanut Butter Cup latte. If blended frozen
drinks are more your style, then you have to try the Mocha Java
Frappe. And while you are sitting down enjoying your coffee,
try some of their delicious food. My recommendations?
The Poppy Seed Bagel with jam, the veggie and cream cheese wrap or a
cinnamon roll.
The
Java Cup
37
Pleasant St.
Claremont, NH.
603-542-2222
The
Java Cup is located in the heart of downtown Claremont and offers
the best in coffee, sandwiches and baked goods. Their coffee
is organic and so tasty. My favorite here is the Café Aztec.
The Café Aztec is fresh steamed espresso, sweet cocoa, heavy cream,
cinnamon and nutmeg and topped with shaved chocolate and shipped
cream. Is your mouth watering yet? They also offer tea,
hot cocoa, Italian soda, smoothies, sandwiches, salads and soup.
Metropolitan
Coffee House and Fine Art Gallery
2680
Main St.
North
Conway, NH.
603-356-2332
If
you love coffee and enjoy fine art, then this is the place for you.
This place is amazing and so much more than a coffee shop. My
favorite area at the Metropolitan Coffee House and Fine Art Gallery
is the fireplace room with in-house computer and Wi-Fi internet
access. The coffee house has been named “The Best Coffee House
in the North Country” by New Hampshire Magazine. The shop
houses beautiful fine art from not only the Mount Washington Valley
but from all over the world as well. In addition to coffee and
fine art, they also have local musicians, poets and storytellers.
This is a genuine coffee house in that they don’t serve salads,
sandwiches or soups, just great coffee. I recommend the Egg
Nog Latte.
Silver
Moon Creperie
20
Third St.
Dover,
NH.
603-742-6150
In
addition to tasty coffee, Silver Moon also offers the best Panini
sandwiches and crepes. My recommendation for the best Panini
sandwich is the veggie Panini which is made with grilled eggplant,
roasted red peppers, pesto and mozzarella. As for the best in
crepes, I would recommend the white chocolate with raspberry crepe.
My beverage of choice here is the Double Espresso.
The
Black Bean Café
76
Front St.
Rollinsford, NH.
603-740-4555
Not
only does The Black Bean Café serves delicious coffee. They
have a great breakfast and lunch selection as well. The Black
Bean Café serves great fresh brewed coffee, espresso, latte,
cappuccino and tea. I have been here both for breakfast and
lunch and for breakfast I recommend The Usual which is 2 eggs,
toast, home fries and your choice of ham, sausage or bacon.
For lunch, I have 2 favorites. One is the Carboni Salad which
is made with greens, snap peas, grape tomatoes, hard boiled eggs,
bacon, ham, provolone and turkey pinwheels and topped with creamy
Italian dressing. I also love the Northend Italian Baguette
made with salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone and mozzarella cheeses,
roasted red peppers, basil and house dressing.
